1.Why are the four major layers of the atmosphere separated where they are?

 >The four major layers of the atmosphere are Thermosphere, Mesosphere, Stratosphere, and Troposphere.

2.What increases the temperature in the stratosphere?

 >The temperature increases with the altitude. This is the result of high concentration of ozone in the stratosphere. Ozone absorbs ultraviolet(UV)radiation from  the sun and converts this energy to heat, causing air temperature to  increase.

3.Can planes fly in the mesosphere? Why or why not? 

>No, because it can only flew 33,000(10 km) and there is no ozone layer in the mesosphere

  

4.On what does the temperature in the thermosphere depend?

>The temperature of the thermosphere depends on the ultraviolet radiation from the sun
